Dublin Archers Double FITA 18

The Dublin Archers indoor shoot was held at DCU on November 3rd.  A field of more than 40 archers took part in the double FITA.  Representatives from clubs across the country took part in the competition, providing a good, relaxed atmosphere.

The competition was notable for the large number of archers shooting their first competition, across all the categories.  A very welcome development.

Judge Tony McLaughlin kept a watchful eye on the competition which saw no great controversy adding to the fun element of the day.  Barry Brophy acted as Directer of shoot, assisted by Kevin MacDermott, ensuring good time keeping and the smooth running of the days activities.

Most archers seemed pleased with their performances, with a number of the less experienced archers setting PBs, and many target faces requiring changeout due to the destruction of the yellow on most bosses.

Dublin Archers coach, Martin Cunningham put in a sterling performance shooting in both Senior Male Compound, and Senior Male Recurve, taking the top spot in recurve and second place in the compound under 550 category. His recurve score only three points behind his compound score.

All in all it was a pleasant shoot with many archers breaking new ground.
