Welcome to our dedicated page for Women in Archery! Archery Ireland is committed to creating an environment in which women feel valued and empowered, and we’re excited to help you take your first steps in our sport. On this page, you’ll find everything you need to know to get started in archery, from joining your local club to finding a beginner course.
Finding A Club
If you’re looking to take up archery, the first step is contacting your local club. We have dozens of active clubs across the country and you can find your nearest one on the ‘Club Finder’ section of this website.
Our clubs offer a supportive and inclusive environment for women who want to take up the sport. Whether you’re interested in target, field or 3D archery, there’s a club out there for you. They run regular beginner courses, competitions and social events, so there’s always something for everyone!
Beginner Courses
It is recommended that you do not purchase any equipment prior to completing a beginner course, as it will be provided to you for the duration of the course. Once you’ve finished, you’ll be invited to join the club where you’ll receive advice on the equipment that will best suit your needs.

Women in Sport Initiatives
Archery Ireland is committed to supporting women at every level of the sport, from beginners to experienced competitors. In line with Sport Ireland’s targeted areas for improvement, we are striving to increase participation and visibility, in addition to encouraging women to become leaders, coaches and judges. We have engaged in a number of targeted initiatives, including regular ‘Come & Try’ events and subsided coaching / judging courses

As a member of an Archery Ireland club, you’ll have access to training facilities, coaching and a network of archers who share your passion for the sport. You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in club competitions and attend social events.
