Dear Clubs,
Following the announcement from Government on March 29th and further follow up from Sport Ireland on April 1st, Archery Ireland would like to clarify what the changes later this month mean for our members.
Training:
April 12th: No change for Archery Ireland
April 19th: Additional high performing athletes, as approved by Sport Ireland, can resume training. As yet Archery Ireland have no athletes recognised in this category. Representations have been made concerning those training and selected for qualifying events for Tokyo 2020 and we are awaiting response in the context of this announcement. Access to the National Sport Campus and the Archery Ireland range remains restricted. All stakeholders will be contacted once this is resolved.
April 26th: Archery may resume within clubs that can support activities as outlined and we request that these are strictly adhered to
- Underage non-contact outdoor training in pods of 15 can recommence.
- Outdoor distanced sport for adults can begin to take place. Activities should be on a socially distanced basis and may take place between a maximum of two households.
Competitions:
No change for Archery Ireland, no competitions will take place at this time.
Facilities:
- From April 26th outdoor ranges and field courses may reopen
- Club houses and other indoor facilities (for example: changing rooms, showers, kitchens, meeting rooms), remain closed.
- Essential toilet facilities may open.
Domestic Travel:
From 12 April, travel is permitted within your own county or within 20km of your home if crossing county boundaries.
The Archery Ireland Framework Protocol remains in place. Clubs must again register their return to sport this time via online form before restarting activities.
