Wicklow archers Field League 5
On Sunday the 22nd of July, Wicklow Archers Archery Club hosted stage Five of their field archery league for 2013. The event took place in Dargle Valley, Enniskerry Co. Wicklow. Wicklow Archers is one of the few clubs that regularly hold field archery competitions.
The weather was great, cloudy but bright and warm.
A total of 31 archers attended. This is the best turnout this year so far. The most represented disciplines on the day were Senior Barebow and Senior Compound both with 6 entrants.
For 4 archers this was their first time trying out field archery.
The competition is starting to heat up with changes at the top in a lot of the categories.
As this is a league the best 3 of 10 scores from an archer will go towards their final standing. This was only the fifth shoot of the year so there is still plenty of time for anyone interested to get some scores in! Beginners to the sport are always welcome.
A big thank you must be given to the club members who took the time to design and construct the course and those who ensured the competition ran to plan.
The next league competition is on the 1st of September. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
