Dublin Archers Shoot

Dublin Archers held their indoor 18m double fita at Pobalscoil Nessan in Baldoyle on Saturday February 9th.  34 archers from various clubs and at different levels took part in the event with a good few competing for their first time.

The first competitors arrived at 9.30 to begin competition at 10.00 am. The shoot was double detail with 3-spots for the more experienced competitors and 40 cm’s for the first time competitors. Prizes were awarded to Male Recurve advanced and beginner, Female Recurve advanced and beginner, Male Compound, Female Compound and Master Compound. We also had a youth category for the first time and one of our own beginner archers scored very well in his first competition to win first place.

With the high turnout from our own members, especially our beginners, it was a clean sweep for Dublin Archers in some of the categories.

As well as the competition a charity raffle in aid of Our Lady’s hospital for sick children in Crumlin was held on the day. Prizes were kindly donated by members, local retailers and businesses. Many thanks to all who donated or bought tickets and helped us raise over €160.

Thanks to all competitors that showed up on the day, and a huge thanks to all the Dublin Archers members who helped set up ahead of time and helped out on the day to ensure that the competition, and day as a whole had a relaxed atmosphere that we hope everyone enjoyed. Special thanks to Judge, Tony McLoughlin who ensured a smooth days shooting and helped the shoot run to schedule.
