Irish & UK University Archery Cup and Charity Shoot for St.James’s Hospital Burns Unit

On the 12th & 13th of January NUI Galway Archery Club hosted the Irish & UK University Archery Cup and Charity Shoot for St.James’s Hospital Burns Unit in the Kingfisher Sports Centre in NUIG.

Over the Saturday archers from across the country and from the UK shot against each other in both individual and team events, with a number of very exciting head to heads and one arrow shoot offs really making the knockout stages exciting. The morning began with a Fita 18 seeding round, before the knockouts began in the afternoon.

The Sunday shoot was just as exciting, and the standard of shooting just as high as the previous day. After the seeding and knockout rounds, and the raffle over €500 was raised for St.James’s Burns Unit.

We would like to thank everybody who shot this weekend, and to Tony judging both events.

We hope to see everybody at the Barebow Nationals & Fita 18 on the 17th of February at NUI Galway. Please forward all entries to nuigarcheryclub@gmail.com.
