Team Ireland for World University Games is officially announced.

A 93 strong team from Ireland will travel to South Korea to participate in the 28th World University Games. The games which are taking place between 3 – 14 July will see in excess of 9000 athletes compete in 300 medal events across 21 Sports.  Irish archers, John Smith (DIT) and Darren Wallace (NUIG) will compete in the archery competition in compound and recurve.  Korean Ambassador, Hae-yun Park attended the launch and wished team Ireland well in the competition.  Mr Park made special mention of archery as one of the sports that he expects to be a highlight during the games.
Team Ireland is made up of athletes from six sporting disciplines, including football, swimming, golf and judo.
Archery Ireland wishes Darren and John the best of luck for the competition and looks forward to some fine sporting performances during the games.
