Millennium and Wolfshead Winter Series

A series of 6 handicap competitions held over a six month period from October 2022 through to March 2023.

The events are based on a handicap system, with points awarded at each event. Monetary Prizes will be awarded based on the overall standings at the end of Leg 6.

The series of events will be at two different venues as follows:

The handicap for the 6 events will be worked out in the following way:

  • Events are a WA18 shot on a Vegas three spot triangular face, using the Vegas scoring method (all archers score the large 10, the small 10 counting as X’s for tie breaks).
  • The handicap will be 90% of the difference between the average score and 300 (e.g. an archer averages 290, and their handicap will be 90% of 300 – 290 = 9
  • All archers will be required to submit two 30 arrow rounds using the vegas scoring method.
  • All scores for the vegas round must be shot either at recognised competitions or at monitored club nights, with scoresheets signed by a club official.
  • We will accept Vegas scores that were shot in the last 24 months, but will need to be on Ianseo
  • Signed scoresheets can be uploaded when purchasing entries into each leg
  • once entering scores have been entered there is no need to submit further scores
  • Handicaps will change over the course of the events – but will never change by more than 50% of the difference between 2 average scores- e.g. if archers average changes between events from 200 to 220 – the handicap will drop to 81 from 90 and not down to 72, the handicap will not increase.
  • If an archer does not supply any entering scores, their handicap will be worked out from their first two 30 arrow scores in a competition proper.

Competition format:

  • Each event will be run as three separate sessions of 30 arrows, with an archer counting their best 30 arrow score on each day to count towards the result of that day.
  • There are three opportunities for each archer to record their best score on the day of each leg of the competition.
  • An archer can enter any combination of the three sessions on each individual day.
  • Each session is purchased separately for each competition
  • Cost of each 30 arrow session is €8
  • Each session has a separate prize fund fee of €5
  • There are no concessions available for the events
  • Points will be awarded based on the position in the daily standings at each event starting at 100 pts for first place  and ending at 1pt for 40th place

Re-entry on the day of a competition:

  • If an archer enters less than three sessions, then they will be able to re-enter in other sessions.
  • The cost of the re-entry will be €10 plus the prize fund fee of €5.
  • Re-entries will be restricted to there being places available on the day and in the relevant session.

Qualification requirements for the overall prize fund:

  • There is no minimum event entry criteria
  • The best 4 (of maximum 6) event scores will determine the final standings.
